Full terms of service are still being written. Until they are, this page states plainly what cooqbooq commits to today and what has not been settled. It is a description of how things work — not a contract.
Browsing and building are free
You can read recipes, write your own, and build a whole cookbook without paying anything. You pay only when you order something physical — a printed book. Contributors to someone else’s project are never asked to pay, and never need an account.
Prices you see while building are approximate
The figure shown while you configure a book is an estimate — the product says so beside it, and the final price is set when you place the order. Shipping is calculated at review, before you pay, not afterwards.
Your recipes stay yours
Writing something here does not hand it over. Sharing is something you switch on, per link, and can switch off. What you wrote remains yours to take elsewhere.
A printed book cannot be recalled
If something is removed, that stops future printings and future sharing. It cannot retrieve a book already on somebody’s shelf. We would rather say that plainly than let you discover it later. How a removal request is weighed, and how long it takes, is on the takedown page.
cooqbooq is running a small pilot
This is an early, limited pilot with a handful of families. Features change, and this page changes with them. If something here matters to a decision you are making, ask before you rely on it.

- Who owns a recipe several family members contributed to together
- Your legal right to export, and what we commit to — the mechanism now exists (Settings → Your archive); what is missing is the binding statement of it
- What deletion removes, and how long anything is preserved
- How long a collection is kept if an account goes quiet
- Cancellations and refunds — today these are handled by a person, case by case, and there is no stated policy yet
- The governing entity, and which law applies
- Limits of liability
